Carole Norman has spent twenty years working in and running some of Kinsale's best restaurants. Carole's attractive restaurant has a lot going for it - not only can you drop in for a glass of wine at the bar, eat delicious local produce including seafood, lobsters, oysters, Irish Beef etc, but if you like the pottery that we make you can buy that too.
Born out of a love of food and pottery Crackpots is tucked away between the Museum and Desmond Castle Wine Museum. We have created an intimate and friendly restaurant with a working pottery that has earned a fine reputation with locals and visitors alike. The open fire and dusky-soft walls are decorated with the ceramics that are also for sale. We have recently extended, re-furbished and now includes a patioi area in the garden for those relaxing sunny days to eat "al fresco". We have also opened an Art Gallery above the restaurant where local and international artists exhibit throughout the year.
The menus are altered seasonally to cater for the availability of fresh produce, and offer a unique selection of dishes to suit all tastes and pockets. There is always plenty of seafood , as-well as meat ceiliac and vegetarian dishes all prepared to a high standard by our creative and talented head chef Leona Robinson
